In Page Editing*

Screen Shot of WebEdit mode on the MoreNet websiteWebEdit offers advanced "In Page" editing.  This means that you can actually change the content of your web page within the browser window itself while viewing the page live on your website.

This is achieved by placing WebEdit Content Blocks within your ASPX where you would normally add content within say a <DIV> tag.  When your web page is viewed in a browser you will be able to login to WebEdit in the normal way and then add your content to these Content Blocks which will be highlighted with red dotted borders.  The screen shot shown to the right shows what these editable Content Blocks look like when we log into WebEdit on the MoreNet website (Click image for larger view).

The In Page WebEdit toolbar Once logged in a pop-out toolbar is displayed in the top left corner of the web page.  This provides buttons which will perform common word processing functions on the text and images within the editable Content Blocks.  You can see the pop-out toolbar in the screen shot above and a larger version of it to the left.  The formatting functions that are available via this toolbar are as follows:

      • On/Off
      • Save
      • Undo
      • Redo
      • Horizontal Rule
      • Undo all changes

      • Fully Justify
      • Hyperlink
      • Remove Hyperlink
      • Image Manager
      • File Manager

At the bottom of the toolbar some buttons are displayed.  The ones that will be shown will depend on the access rights of the currently logged in user.  The Logout button is always displayed but, for example, the User List is only displayed if the user has permissions to manage user account and The Reg. Details and Licensing buttons are only displayed if the user is a "Super User".  For more details on what these buttons do please click on the following links:

* Please note that In Page editing is only available when performing alterations in Internet Explorer.  WebEdit does offer content management features for Firefox and Netscape but this is done by way of a pop-up text editor.  This is due to non IE browsers not supporting the HTML ContentEditable attribute which makes In Page Editing possible.  Please also note that once saved your web page content will be viewable in any web browser no matter which browser you perform the changes in.
